How to Test if My Computer Can Run a Game

How to Play Run 3 Online

The free Run 3 game (available on the Coolmath Games website) is great for testing your reflexes, spatial awareness and problem-solving skills. Learn how to play Run 3 online in our handy guide, but be warned: This awesome game is an addictive way to train your brain.

What is Run 3?

Run 3 is (rather unsuprisingly) the sequel to Run 2, the Coolmath Game that saw a little gray alien running endlessly through tunnels and dodging dangers. Run 3 takes the game to the next level, with even greater challenges and more fun characters to unlock.

Run 3 falls into the genre of "endless runner." In this type of video game, players face an endless gauntlet of increasingly difficult challenges, aiming to survive as long as possible while getting a high score. What makes Run 3 cool is that there's an "explore mode" that has an emerging storyline that helps to make the experience even more engaging.

Accessing the Run 3 Game on Coolmath Games

Coolmath Games' Run 3 action game brings a fast-paced spatial awareness challenge to your internet browser. To start playing, head to www.coolmathgames.com and search for "Run 3" in the list of games. As the game runs in your browser, you don't need to download it. However, you do need to have the Adobe Flash Player plugin. If you aren't running the plugin, you'll see a message with a cute robot informing you to click in the game window to allow Flash. Just click the window and then click "Allow Flash." Your browser should automatically install the latest Flash update for you.

How to Play Run 3

Playing Run 3 by Coolmath Games couldn't be simpler. When you first start, select "Explore Mode," which has a storyline to follow. Or you can select "Infinite Mode," which provides an endless challenge. The game immediately begins, with your cute gray alien running down an endless tunnel. To move your alien, use the arrow keys, or the W, A, S and D keys:

As you run, you pass through rectangular and cylindrical tunnels. In rectangular tunnels, touching a wall causes the play area to rotate 90 degrees. In cylindrical tunnels, moving left or right causes the playing area to roll. Changing the orientation of the play area is often the only way to safely navigate the twisting path of obstacles, making the game a brain-burning spatial awareness puzzle that promotes logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Obstacles

As in all endless runner games, the alien in Run 3 never stops. You have to think fast to guide it around the obstacles. There are two main hurdles to overcome:

  • Pits: Black spaces on the floor are pits. Stand on them and you fall.
  • Collapsing floors: Gray spaces are floors, but when you step on them they fall away.

New Characters

While you start the game playing a gray alien, it's possible to unlock new characters by beating levels. These characters may offer benefits. For example, the skater is much easier to control on the snowy winter levels. See if you can unlock them all.
